Mount Miniserver on DIN rail
Connect 24V DC power supply, but do not switch on until the whole installation is complete
Wire up inputs and outputs
Connect Miniserver to LAN
Connect Miniserver to extensions via Loxone Link*
Terminate the Loxone Link at the last extension with 120Ω resistor*
Check that a micro-SD card is inserted
Switch on power supply
Wait until the left hand LED on the Miniserver flashes constantly and steadily (approx 2Hz)

CONNECT TO THE MINISERVER
When connecting for the first time, connect the network adaptor to the network then connect the power supply. The Miniserver will then boot from the inserted MicroSD card which stores all the firmware and user data. The Miniserver will now get an IP address automatically from the router (DHCP server). It is important that your Miniserver is connected to the same network as your computer so you can use the Miniserver Search in Loxone Config.
MINISERVER SEARCH IN LOXONE CONFIG
Open Loxone Config and in the tab Miniserver find the Search button. Click on this and the whole network is searched to find the Miniserver.
The Miniserver will be listed in the Search results window with the name, IP address, serial number and firmware version.
Highlight the Miniserver in the Search results and enter the username and password (the default is ‘admin’ for both). Finally click on Connect.
If you run your Miniserver the first time you can also do the Initial Setup. There you can set major setting just like Network Config and project address.
Afterwards you can see in the status bar that you are connected.
CONNECTING NOT POSSIBLE?
Network connections are often blocked by firewalls or anti-virus programs. If you have connection problems check that Loxone Config has been allowed through the firewall and the anti-virus program. If you are still have difficulties try disabling the anti-virus program completely. If this does not allow you to connect please contact our technical support.
First, select ‘Configure Miniserver’ in the title bar, within the Miniserver tab.
Enter the MAC address (serial number) of your Miniserver. To manually set an IP address, Select “Use Static IP Address”. Enter the desired IP address, Subnet, Default Gateway, DNS servers and click Send. Your Miniserver has now been assigned the new IP address.
Note that you can only send network changes to a Miniserver with 1 hour of powering it up. If it has been longer than 1 hour then simply power cycle (Turn off and On) the Miniserver.
The Miniserver will reboot as soon as you send the new network information. A successful command will cause the status LEDs on the Miniserver to go orange briefly. If this doesn’t happen the Miniserver hasn’t rebooted and the command hasn’t been sent. This could be caused by antivirus software or a firewall blocking the command or the connection from the device to the Miniserver being poor.
The information prefilled in the ‘Configure Miniserver’ window is only the default information, and needs to be replaced according to your network settings.
Changing Miniserver Time
In order to change your Miniserver’s time/time zone you need to first connect to your Miniserver. In the same window as above, you will now have General, Access, and Network tabs. In the General tab you will have some location options.
In this window, you can set the name of the Miniserver (used for the app), the location (Used for weather, sun position, etc.), and the time the Miniserver will use. If the Miniserver has a working internet connection, it will automatically update its time based on the set Time Zone. If you don’t have an internet connection, you can set it manually, this will use your PC/laptop time so be aware.
LAN PORT LED STATES
The Miniserver LAN port has the standard two LED indicator lights, here are the various states and the information they represent.
Orange: Activity LED
– Off: No Link (cable may not be connected at either or severed midway)
– On Link (But no activity)
– Blinking Data Activity (the faster it is blinking the more activity)
Green: Speed LED
– Off: 10 Mbps (or it is not connected -> Activity LED is also Off)
– On: 100 Mbps
